Literacy in Ash

This week we are going to look at how to write instructions. We will link these to our product that we will be making during our DT Day.

Literacy in Maple Class

Linked to our DT day this week, we are going to be writing instructions on how to make a card using linkages and levers. 

Maths

Yr 4 - We have finally come to the end of our Multiplication and Division unit. We will be multiplying 3 numbers together and then doing the end of unit assessments.

Yr 5 - We are still working hard with our fractions. This week we will be adding two mixed numbers together, subtracting fractions, subtracting from a mixed number and then subtracting from a mixed number - breaking the whole.

Science

Yr 3 - Our final lesson on our Nutrition and Diet unit, we will be learning about animal diets. 

Yr 4 - We will be carrying out the 2nd half of our ice melting investigation and then writing our conclusions. 

Yr 5 - We are enjoying learning about our Solar System. We will be learning about the motion of the earth and planets.

Geography

Y4: This week, we will looking at time zones across the world. 

Y5: We will be exploring mountain travel to finish off our unit on Mountains. 

DT

For our DT day we will be designing, making and evaluating packaging for a toy/item/gift. We will be looking at a range of boxes and discussing their purpose and what we like about them. We will be designing our own packaging using a net design and decorate it considering the visual effects and purpose. Once we have our final product we will evaluate it.

RE

We have come to the end of our unit and will be evaluating what we have learnt about Hindu belief and practce in relation to Brahman/Atman.

Computing

Yr 5 - Our final lesson of the unit, we will be using all our skills learnt over the unit to create a vector drawing for a specific purpose. 

Yr 4 - Writing for different audiences - linking with our DT, we will design a promotional poster for our product.
