This week we are reading the story 'Hansel and Gretel' We have the characters from the story in our small world, so the children can retell the story and we have a challenge to turn the dolls house into a house of sweets. We will be exploring printing using rollers and string.

 

In drawing club, we will be introducing new vocabulary such as confectionary, wicked, double, scary, cauldron, swish, piercing and innocent. We will be drawing the witch, the witch's house of sweets, the witch wants to buy a new spider but she doesn't know which to choose, the pet spider likes biting people! What will it turn the teacher into if it bites them? We will use code words and sentences to make funny things happen.

 

In phonics, this week we will be recapping the sounds ure, and ear. We are focusing on all the tricky words we have learnt so far. 

 

In maths, we will be learning to looking at 1 less, making number bonds to 10 using numicon and making arrangements of 10.
