This week we are learning about London. We will be finding out about and writing about the London landmarks and London transport. We will be making crowns and necklaces using pasta.

 

We have also been discussing the life of Queen Elizabeth II and some of the amazing events that occurred during her reign. The children have begun drawing their own portraits of the late Queen. This week we will be reading ' Coming to England' by Floella Benjamin and we will be looking at videos and photos of The arrival of The Windrush and talking about the Windrush generation. 

 

 

In phonics, this week we will continuing with basics 4 sounds. In this phase the children are taught to be able to hear more than 3 sounds in a word.  

 

In maths, we are learning our numbers to 20 and beyond. We will do this by focussing on numbers 10-13 first and then 14-20. We will be playing games and reading number stories in class.

 

The children have also begun drawing
