Background
Pupil Premium is allocated to children from low income families who are eligible for Free School Meals and/or children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months. From 2012 – 2013 it also includes children who have been eligible for FSM at any point in the last six years. This is called ‘Ever Six’ funding. There is also an entitlement for the children of service personnel who are funded at a lower level.
Schools are free to make decisions about how Pupil Premium is spent to maximise learning opportunities for these children and must be able to demonstrate the impact of this additional support. We are also required to publish our Pupil Premium commitments on our website. We aim to be fair and effective in ensuring that every pupil makes progress that is deemed at least good, taking into account their individual starting points and needs.
