We believe Physical Education helps to develop thinking, selecting and applying skills, which are important for progression across the whole of the curriculum. We encourage our children to choose to adopt a healthier lifestyle and develop a positive attitude towards sport. The school believes that Physical Education experienced in a safe and supportive environment makes a vital and unique contribution to a pupil’s physical and emotional health, development and well being.
We follow the Department of Education's National Curriculum for Physical Education which states that 'A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.'
Our children have the opportunity to participate in many different sports at our school through the curriculum.
