Our Christmas play is well under way!

 

Literacy- This week will will be reading 'Let's Save Antarctica' and 'Ice Bear'. We will be watching some clips about Polar Bears. We will begin by writing questions for what we would like to find out and hopefully finding the answers to these questions. We will writing statements about these bears and using adjectives to add detail to them. We will be writing a letter to Mrs Burnett/ parents persuading them to let us adopt a polar bear and giving the reason why.

 

Maths- Year 2 will be sorting 2D shapes, counting the faces, vertices and edges of 3D shapes, sort 3D and 2D shapes and making patterns with 2D and 3D shapes.

 

Year 1 - We are learning to recognise and name 3D shapes, sort 3D shapes, recognise and name 2D shapes, sort 2D shapes and patterns with 2D shapes and 3D shapes.

 

Phonics - Year 2 will be revising the alternative spelling patterns for oe, au, ey and also common exception words.

 

Year 1 - we are learning the i-e, o-e, u-e sounds this week.

 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring different animal diet. Year 2 will be comparing suitability of different materials.

 

History - They will be finding out about some explorers who explored the polar regions. Sequencing some of the events in their lives.

 

Design and technology - They will be continuing their design for a chair for the three bears. 

 

RE - We will be going to go on a Christmas trail to find out about the Christmas story. 

 

RSHE- We are learning who to ask for if we need help? How does our bodies react when we don't want to be touched?
