w/b 25th March

Only 4 more days until the end of the Spring Term, and then 2 weeks off for the Easter break! What a busy term we have had. Well done to all the children for achieving so much this year already, and thank you to all the parents for your continued support. It really was so lovely to welcome many of you into school last week to showcase our work. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

Monday = Class Photos! Please make sure all children are in the correct uniform and looking smart.

Literacy in Maple Class

This week, we have one more Common Exception Word test to complete for this term. This final score will give us all targets to be working on for the Summer Term. We will do some handwriting practise this week too, as well as finishing the week with some Spring performance poetry.

Literacy in Ash Class

We will tying up some loose ends this week, as well as a spelling test!

Maths

Y3: We will be comparing as well as adding and subtracting capacity and volume this week, finishing off with an end of unit assessment to find out what we have mastered and what we might still need to work on.

Y4: We will be working on Times Tables this week, testing our targets and setting new targets for the Summer Term. We will be working on some arithmetic too to finish the week.

Geography

Y3: It's all about tsunamis this week as we watch videos to see them in action, find out what causes them and seeing if we can spot a pattern with where they occur in the world.

Y4: We will be finding out how land is used in a settlement this week.

Y5: We will be comparing climates in Eastern Europe, as well as looking at our climate.

Science

Yr 3 - We will be learning about the eye and how we can see.

Yr 4 - Our new unit is 'Habitats'. We will begin by looking at the habitats of different living things.

Yr 5 - Last week we learnt about the human life cycle. This week we will be exploring the differences between babies and children.

RE

We are evaluating and expressing this term's learning this week. Can we answer our Big Question drawing on all the things we have learned so far?

Thursday

We will be making Easter boxes on Thursday morning ready for the Easter egg hunt in the afternoon. At 11am, we will be walking to the church for our Easter service.  Please do join us in the church as we wing some Easter songs together!
