WEDNESDAY HISTORIC DOCKYARD TRIP YEAR 1 and 2

Year 2 sleepover this week

Literacy - This week we will be using the book Flotsam and planning our own sequel to this. We will plan using a story mountain and then write using the skills we have learnt this year. We will also write a recount of our trip when we return. 

Maths- Year 2 will be revising time. We will be revising telling time to the quarter hours and seeing if we can tell the time to the 5 minute intervals. We will be solving some simple word problems about time. 

Year 1 will be moving on to learn about time. We will be learning months of the year, hours, minutes and seconds. We will be telling the time to the hour and half an hour.

Phonics/spellings- Year 2 will be revising other spelling patterns we need to recap eg adding er, est, ed, ing. 

Year 1 will be revising the higher level 5 Switch it spell sounds. 

Geography - We will be exploring the ocean levels and recalling the names of the oceans of the world.

Computing - We will be presenting ideas and using skills appropriate to each year group to produce a piece of work about the sea.

RSE - We will be using the text 'Someone swallowed Stanley' to create a poster about not polluting the oceans.
