Maths

Yr 5 - This week we will be using the formal method to divide 4 digits by 1 digit, with or without remainders. We will also be problem solving using the multiplication and division methods taught since the beginning of this term.

Yr 4 - We are now going to be learning the formal method to multiply and also to divide. 

Literacy in Ash

We will continue to read our book, 'The boy at the back of the class'. We will be exploring the character Ahmet through role play and discussion. We will be learning how to use relative clause within our writing. 

Literacy in Maple Class

We are writing a newspaper report this week about the boat crash that happened in our story, Hello lighthouse. We will be using the 5 W's to write an introduction before organising our writing into paragraphs. 

Science

Yr 3 - We are going to looking at rocks and sorting them into groups.

Yr 4 - We will be investigating sounds and how loud each sound can be.

Yr 5 - This week we will be learning all about the moon and night and day.

Computing

Yr 5 -  we will be planning our podcast this week and begin to record it on Audicity.

Yr 4 - we will be learning how to change the background and how to add or change the sprites on Scratch.

Art

We are thoroughly enjoying our art work so far this term. This week, we will looking at the work of Andy Gilmore and Louise Despont. We will choose what style of art we would like to create over the next few weeks and begin to plan our ideas, think about our patterns and colours that we might like to use.

RE

We will be continuing our individual/group work researching Jewish festivals. We will be preparing ourselves to present our work to the rest of the class.

There is no History this week as a select few children from key stage two will be attending a special musical concert on Tuesday morning. Mrs Westbrook will be driving these children in the minibus, so I will have the remaining children to teach them science, and the PE session will be run by the PE guys for the other half of the children. 

If your child is attending the concert, please can they wear school uniform on Tuesday.
