Summer Term 2022
Welcome back to the summer term! I hope you have all had a restful and enjoyable break.
This first half term is quite short and is punctuated by both SATs and a residential trip for the Year 6s.
SATs week begins on the 9th of May and continues for four days until Thursday 12th. I have uploaded a document (see below) with the complete schedule for the week.
We will also distribute information regarding the residential trip closer to the time.
As we only have roughly 2.5 weeks of normal teaching time this half term, our focus in class is relatively small. Our text in literacy is the wonderful true story of James Williams and his elephant camp during WW2. This story is illustrated and retold in the book Bandoola- The Great Elephant Rescue by William Grill.
We will also complete our work on Evolution and Inheritance in Science which looks at the life and work of Charles Darwin and his voyage aboard HMS Beagle.
After the half term break, our new Topic 'Our Ocean Planet' will start, which, as it sounds, looks at the geography, environmental importance and bio-diversity our our planet's oceans.
Finally, I hope that now the weather has improved, I will see more of you at our upcoming summer events.
