W/C 11th March

A few extras for this week:

Tuesday - Yr 5 Forest School in the afternoon. Don't forget to bring a change of clothes. Also, please have wellies or suitable boots/shoes that you don't mind getting filthy, plus a waterproof coat and waterproof trousers. 

Tuesday - Thursday - All yr 4's will be together each day as the Yr 3's are on their residential.

Friday - Red Nose Day. To support Comic Relief, children are welcome to wear red and bring in a £1 donation.

 

Maths

Yr 4 - Our new unit is 'Decimals'. We will be learning about tenths as decimals, on a place value chart and on a number line and then dividing a 1 and 2 digit number by 10.

Yr 5 - We have moved to a new unit, 'Perimeter and Area'. We will be learning to calculate the perimeter of rectilinear shapes and polygons, calculate the area of rectangles and compound shapes and estimate area.

 

Literacy in Ash

We are slightly behind with our newspaper so we will be working hard to get it completed this week.

 

Literacy in Maple

While Mrs Westbrook is away in Goodwood, the year 4's will be working on a stand-alone literacy unit, working on handwriting, presentation and spelling.

 

Science

Yr 4 - This week we will be learning about conductors and insulators. We will be testing different materials to see if they are conductors of electricity. 

Yr 5 - Our last lesson in our unit, we will be looking at uses of everyday materals - wood, plastic and metal.

 

RE

This weeks key questions is:

Why is 'Hallelujah' an important word in Easter worship?'

 

Art

We will have a one off art lesson this week and continue with our DT next week.
