We have a few changes this week:
Maths
Yr 4 - This week we be exploring equivalent fraction families, adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers
Yr 5 - We will be rounding decimals to the nearest whole number and rounding to 1 decimal place before moving on to understanding percentages. We will be learning about percentages as decimals and fractions.
Literacy in Ash
This week, we will read as much of the book as we can before we go to the theatre. We will study different characters points of view and revisit how to punctuate speech correctly.
Literacy in Maple Class
We will begin this week by asking questions to improve our understanding of the text so far. What questions could Finn (our main character) be asking at different points of the story? We will be looking closely at the character of the golden fish and, using expanded noun phrases, we will be describing the golden fish.
Science
Yr 3 - We will be evaluating our soil investigation
Yr 4 - This week we will be using all the electrical equipment to build series circuits.
Yr 5 - We have planned our investigation so this week we will be carrying out our investigation to see which material is the best insulator.
RE
Our key question for this week is:
What stories do Christians tell about the importance of Jesus and his death and resurrection?
Computing
Yr 5 - We will be starting a new unit of work all about 3D modelling on the computers.
Yr 4 - We will be using the microbits as a data logger to record different temperature around the school.
History
Y3 & Y5 - We will be learning about Egyptian gods this week. We will be researching and finding out about many of the gods the Egyptians believed in. After listening to the facts, we will be writing character profiles about the gods.
Y4 - We will be finding out about a very significant person in the Shang Dynasty called Fu Hao. Her tomb was discovered with many strange artefacts. We will be finding out the significance of these artefacts and find out what we can learn from these.
