Tuesday is an Inset training day for teachers, so we will welcome back the children on Wednesday. 

Normal PE kit for Wednesday please. 

Maths

Yr 3 - this (half!) week we will be counting in multiples of 10, looking at related calculations and then using these to answer reasoning questions. 

Yr 4 - we will be looking at factor pairs this week and multiplying by 10. 

Literacy 

In Maple Class will be reading our new text together, using expanded noun phrases to describe what we can see in / from a lighthouse, then creating a list of jobs for a lighthouse keeper using subheadings. These skills will help us to write a letter next week to the lighthouse keeper's wife. 

Art

Our unit this half term is all about 'Exploring Patterns'. I want the children to feel relaxed free to experiment with pattern without any restrictions or guidelines. SO this week, the children will be given a range of tools including needles, pencils of various thicknesses and a piece of cartridge paper. They will be encouraged to create patterns on the page. Spellings

Please practise 5 to 10 of your CEW at the back of your spelling books. I will be monitoring the progress on a weekly basis this half term to ensure children are mastering their spellings.
