Maths

Yr 4 - We will be dividing by 10, 100 and then learning how to use the formal method to multiply.

Yr 5 - We will be solving problems using multiplication and then revisiting how to use the short method to divide. 

 

Literacy in Ash

Throughout the week we will be reading up to the end of chapter 5. We will be exploring viewpoints within the text and making inferences from what we have read. We will write a missing persons reports and a diary in the role of one of the main characters. 

 

History

Yr 4 - Who was Alexander the Great and what was so special about his empire?

Yr 5 - Who were the Anglo-Saxon kings when the Vikings invaded?

 

Science

Yr 3 - We will be learning about how fossils are formed.

Yr 4 - This week we will be learning all about our ears and how we hear sounds.

Yr 5 - We will be testing different materials for electrical conductivity.

 

Art

We will be looking at the artist 'Kittie Jones' and how she combines different media in her world to capture the energy and spirit of a place. We will be thinking about what materials we could use for our art in the upcoming weeks.

 

Computing

Yr 4 - This week we will be using Purple Mash to look rhythm and tempo.

Yr 5 - We will be creating a class database using the Purple Mash software.

 

RE

Our key questions for this week are:

  • Why is the story 'Moses and the burning bush' important to Jewish people? What does it teach about 'holiness'?
  • Is holiness a place?
