Tuesday is forest school for year1. Please dress appropriately including long sleeves and long trousers. Please also, send your child in with PE kit as they will have PE in the afternoon.

Literacy - We will begin to use the text 'The Dragon Machine'. We will be focusing on using adjectives and year 2 identifying expanded noun phrases. We will be describing the setting in the book, creating and describing our own machine, considering George's emotional journey and comparing dragons in different books. We will also be answering questions about the book.

Phonics/ spelling patterns - Year 2 will be learning to spell words with the suffix ment and ful. They will also be practising their common exception words.

Year 1 will be continuing with the 'Switch it spell' sounds. This week we are focusing on /ou/ as in cloud or mould and the /o/ sounds as in frog, open and honey.  

Maths- Year 2 will be finding half, recognising a quarter, finding a quarter, recognising a third and finding a third.

Year 1 will be recognising equal groups, adding equal groups, making arrays and making doubles.

Science- Year 1 will be finding our about wild and garden plants. Year 2 will be planning a plant investigation involving a bulb and seed and planting them

History- We will be exploring the role of the monarch and significant monarchs in history.

Art - We will be drawing from observation and experimenting with mark making.

Computing- Year 1 will begin a unit on digital painting and year 2 will begin a unit on making quizzes.

RE - We will be enquiring as to the importance of the Torah to the Jewish community.
