Literacy

We will be planning and drafting our letters to spark change this week. As a class, we will choose a charity to support and write to someone who we think will be able to help us. The children will be carefully considering their language choices to be emotive, persuasive and engaging.  

Maths

Y3: Will be starting their new unit on measure. We start this week by looking different scales. Our learning about fractions will support this new learning as we consider the intervals on the scales and what they represent. 

Y4: This is a new unit on decimals. Our knowledge on fractions, especially tenths, will come in handy this week as we learn how tenths are represented as decimals. 

RE

We will be finding out about how Christians and the church celebrate Easter weekend, starting with Good Friday. 

Geography

Y3: We will be learning about earthquakes this week. 

Y4: We will be learning how land is used in settlements. 

Y5: We will be comparing places in Eastern Europe. 

Computing

Y3: Will be learning how to use email safely. 

Y4: We will be looking at AI in action. 

DT

This is the week we will be making our pencil cases. Thank you to all the parents who have kindly volunteered their time for Thursday afternoon. The more helpers, the better! I hope the pencil cases will be finished this week but we have next week as well, just in case we need extra time to add any embellishments.
