Year 2 forest school on Tuesday.

Literacy - This week we will be using the text 'The Magic Paintbrush'. We will be exploring new vocabulary, painting our own paintings with a 'magic' paintbrush, writing a description of these using adjectives and writing a different ending for the book. We will also be completing some comprehension questions about the book. 

Phonics - Year 2 will be looking at alternative spellings patterns for the same sound, working on our spelling pattern for the week and practising our common exception words.

Year 1 will be continuing to learn more of the 'choose to use' spellings. This week we will learn the split digraphs /a_e/ and e_e.

Maths - Year 2 - We will be using lines of symmetry to complete shapes, sorting 2D shapes, counting faces and edges on 3D shapes.

Year 1 - will be finishing off the addition and subtraction topic and moving on to learn about shape, recognising and sorting 3D shapes. 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring floating and sinking. Year 2 will be testing materials to see if they bend, squash, twist or stretch.

DT - We will be continuing our fire engines and once complete start to test them to see if they can move and carry water at the same time.

Geography - We will continue to find out about the 4 countries of the UK.

RE - We will be exploring how Christians get ready for Christmas and what the advent candles represent.
