YEAR 1 FOREST SCHOOL IS ON THIS WEEK. PLEASE DRESS APPROPRIATELY AND REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR PE KIT IN.

Literacy- We will be continuing to use the text Vlad and the Great Fire of London. We will be doing some in class drama about the text, writing questions and posing these to the characters, considering the characters senses during the story and using this to map out the story and write a diary entry as if they were Vlad/Boxton.

Phonics - Year 2 will be revising the phonemes /er/ /ure/ /or/ and alternative ways of spelling them. We will also be practising some of the year 2 common exception words.

Year 1 will be continuing to revise the phase 4 sounds, CCVC words with digraphs, words such as clown, steep, flight, brain, green.

Maths- Year 2 will be revising number bonds to 10, fact families for addition and subtraction within 20, related facts, bonds to 100 in tens and adding and subtracting ones.

Year 1 will be introduced to parts and wholes, the part whole model, writing number sentences and fact families, addition facts. 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring the sense of touch. Year 2 will be exploring the effects of exercise on the body.

History - We will be finding out about the events of the Great Fire of London and putting these in chronological order on a timeline.

Art - We will be exploring with mark marking using water soluble pencils. Also we will be creating GFOL paintings.

Computing  - Year 1 will be practising logging in and creating a simple picture. Year 2 will be opening the document they worked on the previous lesson and adding text to it.
