Forest school for year 2.

We will be practising for our Christmas Play so please keep going over lines and practising the songs.

Literacy - This week we will be using the text Spider Sandwiches. We will be creating our own disgusting spider sandwiches focusing on using adjectives to describe. We will be writing what we do and not not like to eat in full sentences. We will be writing an explanation of how spiders move using different verbs and answering questions about the book.

Phonics - Year 2 We will be revising alternative spelling patterns for /ai//ee/ /igh/ and using strategies to choose the best option.

Year 1 will be continuing to learn the choose to use spellings for /ie/, /igh/ and /i_e/

/oa/ /o_e/ and /oe/ 

Maths - Year 2 will be counting vertices on 3D shapes, sorting 3D shapes, making patterns with 2D and 3D shapes and recapping adding and subtracting through arithmetic practise.

Year 1 will be learning about 2D shape this week, they will be recognising and sorting shapes and making patterns with shape. 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring does it absorb water? Year 2 will be planning and investigating waterproof materials.

RE - We will be exploring how does posada encourage some Christians to be helpers like Jesus?

RSE - We will be exploring who are safe adults are?
