Literacy

This week, we are diving into our new text, 'The Explorer'. Using this text, we will be writing a setting description of the Amazon rainforest focusing on main and subordinate clauses. 

 

Maths

We are finishing our unit on division this week with Y3 moving onto their next unit on measure. 

 

RE

We will be exploring Muslim stories this week, which teach us about how Muslims show obedience and submission to Allah. We will also be learning about special places for Muslims. 

 

Computing

Y3 will be creating their own branching databases this week. 

Y4 will be continuing to explore music using Busy Beats, this week focusing on melody and pitch. 

 

History

Y3: We are finding ojut about the mummification process this week. 

Y4: We will be looking at what life was like for the ancient Greeks. 

Y5: We will be finding out about the Danegeld, and the King who introduced it. 

 

Art

Now we have created our backgrounds using paints, we will be using Matisse's style of 'painting with scissors' to cut out our card pieces to stick onto the backgrounds. 

 

Science

Yr 3 - We will be exploring the importance of soil.

Yr 4 - This week we will explore volume and pitch.
