This week is our trip to Marwell Zoo!

Literacy- This week we will be using the text 'The Little Red Hen and the Hungry Lion'. We will be reading part of this and writing what we predict will happen next, orally telling the story through drawing pictures and some drama, writing full sentences and considering what the characters are saying by writing speech bubbles for them. We will also be answering some comprehension questions.

Phonics - Year 2 will be revising the kn, gn and learning the spelling pattern for these. They will also be revising the alternative spelling patterns for the a-e and i-e.

Year 1 will be revising the ear, air and ure sounds this week. See 2 attached phonics letter below. 

Maths - Year 2 will be adding and subtracting ones, adding by making 10, adding three one digit numbers and adding to the next 10.

Year 1 will be learning about parts and whole numbers, the part - whole model and we will be writing number sentences. 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring changes in Autumn and completing their senses work. Year 2 will be exploring food and the different food groups.

Art - We are going to be drawing using pencil and pen different Autumnal natural objects on bigger sheets of paper.
