Year 1 have forest school.

Literacy - This week we will reading the story Mama Panya's Pancakes. We will be finding out and writing about life in Kenya and writing facts we have learnt in full sentences. We will be writing instructions using commands and we might even make some of the pancakes mentioned in the book! We will also answer some questions based on the story. 

Phonics - Year 2 will be practising alternative spellings for ew, ey, y and revising spelling patterns tch, ge and dge.

Year 1 will actually be starting the phase 4 phonics this week. We spent last week playing phonics games to assess the children to find the sounds they knew well and ones they were less confident with.

Maths - Year 2 will be finding out 10 more and less than a number, adding and subtraction 10's, adding 2 digit numbers not across 10 and then across 10. 

Year 1 will be learning their number bonds within 10 and to 10, adding together and adding more.

Science - Year 1 will be completing their unit on senses and about Autumn. Year 2 will be completing their unit on the human body and in particular teeth.

Art - We will be completing our African sunset paintings.

Geography - We will be finding out about African animals and the Marvellous Maasai tribe. 

Computing - Year 1 will be developing their skills using a mouse pad to digitally create a picture. Year 2 will be using the 2publish software to create a document about Africa.
