Literacy- This week we will be begin by writing about our trip to Marwell after we have looked at photos and talked about it. We will then be using the text 'Wangari's Trees of Peace'. We will be writing a character profile, hot seating the character by writing questions to ask her and answering comprehension questions. Year 2 will also be focusing on sentence types - commands, statements, questions and exclamations.

Phonics - Year 2 will be revising alternative spellings for er, ou and ore. Also, spelling some of the common exception words.

Year 1 will begin the next phase which we call the basics 4. They will be introduced to magic Mack and Jazzy Jack and will be reading CVCC words such as sand, dent and camp. See parent learning leaflet below for more information.

Maths - Year 2 will be adding to the next 10, adding across 10, subtracting across 10, subtracting from a 10 and subtracting a 1 digit number from a 2 digit number.

Year 1 will be writing number sentences, learning about fact families - addition facts and number bonds to 10.

Science- Year 1 will be continuing to learn about their senses and recording data about the weather in Autumn. Year 2 will be learning about hygiene (importance of washing hands) and teeth.

Art - We will be reflecting on and sharing the art with our classmates. We will also begin an African sunset.

Computing - The children will be developing their skills creating a digital picture.

Geography - We will be exploring Kenya and its people. We will be comparing rural and city life and comparing it to the UK.
