Forest Schools - Year 1 starts this Tuesday. Please can the children come dressed appropriately including long trousers, water proof coat and trousers and wellies. Can they wear to school trainers to school as they will be in class learning in the morning and bring wellies in a bag to change into before they leave after lunch. 

Literacy- This week the children will be using the text 'The Chocolate monster'. They will be focusing on full sentences and using a capital letter and full stop. We will be describing the character, creating one of our own and writing about it. Also, they will be answering some questions about the book.

Phonics - Year 2 will be practising the phonemes ure, ear and air. They also will be reading the year 2 common exception words and beginning to spell some of them.

Year 1 will be recapping the Basics 3 sounds, j,v,w,x,y,z,zz and qu. They will be reading and writing words with these sounds in. 

Maths - Year 2 will be continuing to flexibly partition numbers to 100, write numbers to 100, estimate numbers on a number line, compare objects and compare numbers.

Year 1 will be adding one more, counting backwards within 10, 1 less and comparing groups by matching. 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring sight and sound. Year 2 will be exploring fish and amphibians. 

Geography - We will be exploring where in the world it is hot?

Art - We will be exploring and collecting natural objects. We will be creating patterns in the style of Andy Goldsworthy.

Computing - Year 1 will be logging onto Purple Mash and changing their avatar. Year 2 will be creating a digital picture of an African animal and developing their skills they learnt last year.

RE - We will be enquiring who made the world?
