Forest School for year 2 Tuesday
We will continue to practise for our Christmas play.
Literacy - This week we are using the text 'Solo'. We will be watching a clip about penguins in the wild. We will be learning about nouns and verbs. We will be predicting the next part in the story and explaining what happens in it.
Phonics - Year 2 will be looking at alternative spelling patterns for u and ow and practising common exception words. We will be writing dictated sentences using these words.
Year 1 will be continuing with the basics 4, reading and writing CVCC words. See the learning leaflet below.
Maths - Year 2 will be counting the vertices on 2D shapes, drawing 2D shapes, recognising lines of symmetry and using lines of symmetry to complete shapes.
Year 1 will be learning about shape. We will be recognising and naming 3D shapes and 3D shapes. We will be sorting shapes and making patterns with 2D and 3D shapes.
Science - Year 1 will continue to explore materials and their properties. Year 2 will be exploring the use of different materials for the same object.
Computing - Year 2 will be learning how to effectively search. Year 1will be exploring pictograms.
