Dress rehearsal for the Christmas play is Thursday!
Literacy - This week we will be using the text 'Lost and Found'. Year 1 will continue to learn what a noun is (singular and plural) and year 2's will continue identifying nouns, verbs and adjectives. We will be describing the characters using adjectives and their settings. We will be writing some dictated sentences and practising our handwriting.
Phonics - Year 2 will be revising alternative spellings for u and ow. Also revising common exception words (please also read and spell these at home, a test on these will happen towards the end of term).
Year 1 will be looking at spellings with the CCVCC, see the learning leaflet below.
Maths - Year 2 will be sorting 2D shapes and counting the faces, edges and vertices on 3D shapes. Can the children name shapes around the home and describe the properties.
Year 1 wil be sorting, naming and using 2D shapes to make patterns.
Science - Year 1 will be exploring 'does it absorb?'. Year 2 will be testing materials to explore if they bend, squash, twist or stretch.
RE - The children will continue to learn about the Christmas story.
