Literacy - This week we will be reading the story 'Lost in the Toy Museum'. We will be describing nouns using adjectives. describing where toys are hid around the classroom, building muddled up sentences, identifying nouns and verbs for year 1 and adjectives for year 2 as well. 

 

Phonics - Year 2 will be changing the y to an i and adding ed. We will also continue to spell the common exception words.

 

Year 1 will be reading and writing words with /u-e/ and /oy/

 

Maths - Year 2 will recognising equal groups, making equal groups, adding equal groups, introducing the multiplication symbol and understanding multiplication sentences. 

 

Year 1 will be comparing numbers to 20 and ordering numbers to 20 before moving on to the new maths topic of addition and subtraction within 20.

 

Science  - Year 1 will be learning about fish and year 2 planning an investigation on the effects light and dark on a plant.

 

Design and Technology- This week we will be exploring and making springs. We will being to descorate the box for our Jack in a box.

 

History- We will be comparing toys today with Victorian toys and looking at some replicas.

 

RE - This week we will be exploring what is Tzedakah?
