BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY

FOREST SCHOOL IS TUESDAY FOR YEAR 1

Literacy - This week we will be using the book 'The Tear Thief'. We will be creating top trump cards for the characters, drawing a picture to show what is happening in a passage of reading, writing one more event that could happen in the story and summarising the story.

Phonics/ spelling - Year 2 will be revising their sounds and sounds from their writing that they are less confident with. They will be be learning the possessive singular apostrophe e.g. the pen's lid.

Year 1 - Are learning the switch it sounds for /a/ /ou/ and e.g. apple and angel, mouse and mould. 

Maths - Year 2 will be practising their arithmetic skills of the four operations including missing number problems and word problems.

Year 1 will be making equal groups for sharing and grouping before moving onto our next maths topic which is fractions. 

Science - Year 1 will be finding out about plants in the local area. Year 2 will be exploring parents and their offspring.

Computing - Year 1 will be developing their ability in pictograms. Year 2 will be learning about quizzing using Purple Mash.

Design and Technology - We will be finding out about fish and preparing a tuna salad to try. 

RE - We will be using the book 'growing up' in order to discuss this topic.
