Wednesday 10th September 3pm - Parent meeting - we will be having a meeting to share some of what we will be up to throughout the year and our expectations.

Maths

Yr 4 - We will be starting our Place Value unit this week. We will be looking at numbers up to 1000 before progressing onto numbers up to 10,000.

Yr 5 - Beginning with our Place Value unit, we will be looking at Roman Numerals up to 1,000 before moving onto exploring numbers up to 1,000,000.

Literacy

To begin our learning journey in Literacy we will be exploring the text 'Everest: The Remarkable Story of Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay' written by Alexandra Stewart. We will begin exploring word classes and identifying nouns, verbs and adjectives from the text and then seeing how many others we can think of.

Science

Yr 3 - Our unit to begin our KS2 journey is 'Skeletons'. We will be identifying and naming bones in the human body.

Yr 4 - Group and classify living things - grouping animals.

Yr 5 - Our first lesson in our Forces unit is all about friction.

Art

In Art this half term we will be learning about Topography. We will be exploring the work of designers who work with font and typography. We we go on to create our own typography.

This week we will be looking at the artist Louise Fili and begin to experiment with typography by cutting letters and shapes from coloured paper. 

Computing

Yr 4 - This half term we will be Coding using Scratch. We will be generating questions and quizzes. This week we will be looking at different types of questions.

Yr 5 - We will be Vector Drawing this half term. 

RE
