Maths

Yr 4 - Continuing with place value, we will be partitioning numbers up to 10,000, placing them on a number line and finding 1, 10, 100 and 1000 more or less.

Yr 5 - We will continue to explore numbers up to 1 million, partitioning, finding 1, 10, 100, 1000, 10,000 and 100,000 more or less and comparing and ordering numbers.

 

Literacy

This week we will be using the word bank that we created from last week to write a setting description of Mount Everest. We will focus on the word classes and choosing vocabulary to enhance our writing.

 

Science

Yr 3 - We will be learning about the functions of the skeleton.

Yr 4 - We will be exploring vertebrates and invertebrates.

Yr 5 - We will be learning about air resistance and begin to plan our parachute investigation.

 

 

History

Yr 4 - We will be finding our about Alex the Great. Who was he? What he do that was so 'great'? We will be finding out about his empire and civilization. 

Yr 5 - We will be exploring the graves of Anglo-Saxon women. What grave goods were discovered here? What was found at Sutton Hoo?

 

Art

We will be creating our own typography using a range of pencils and colours.

 

Computing

Yr 4 - We will be writing code to form letters using Logo.

Yr 5 - Continuing to create vectar drawing using the resize tool

 

RE

Our key questions this week are:

  • Where do people get their ideas about Jesus' identify?
  • What did Jesus say in the Bible about who he was?
  • Why did people in Jesus' time think these sayings were claims to be God?
