Autumn 2025

Welcome back. Haven't those 6 weeks gone quickly? We hope you've all had a lovely break and can't wait to hear all your stories of the fun and adventures you've had.

A few reminders to help you get back into school mode:

  • A pencil case and contents - the children can bring their own pencil cases to use in school. Pencils, coloured pencils, rubber, pencil sharpener, highlighters, felt tip pens, ruler, scissors, glue etc. Just 1 pencil case is sufficient and please do not let them bring anything that is super special to them or anything that can cause a distraction in the classroom.
  • PE will be on a Tuesday and Wednesday. Remember to wear PE kits to school; black/navy shorts or tracksuit bottoms, blue school PE t-shirt and trainers.
  • Make sure you have a coat in school as well as wellies.
  • A waterbottle

In Ash class, we will have History lessons together in our year groups (Year 3 - Stone Age, Year 4 - Ancient Greece, Year 5 - Anglo-Saxons) as well as Science and PE. The children are also together in their year groups for Forest School. RE, Computing, Art and Music will be taught in our classes in the afternoons. Maths will be taught in year groups with the year 4s being split into either Maple or Ash depending on where we think they will learn best. Literacy will also be taught in a similar way to Maths.

Information about school trips, parent evening consultations and Christmas performances will be communicated to parents nearer the time.

We will be using Class Dojo to provide links to our class page that will to direct you to our weekly blog. We will be sharing our weekly learning and additional activities. This blog will be updated weekly, usually by the end of the weekend before the upcoming week.

If parents have any questions or need to make an appointment to speak to me, please do email either the office if it is a school issue, or myself directly using imurphy@fittleworth.school if it is a more personal or class based issue.
