Spellings

The children will be given their new spelling books to use at home this week, along with their first spelling pattern of the half term. Please encourage your child to complete the homework sheet and bring it back to school to be marked on Friday. They can use their spelling books for further practice. 

Literacy

We will be revealing our text for this half term this week and predicting what we think will happen in the story using the illustrations. The children will be using their imaginations to create their own fantasy worlds too. 

Maths

Our first unit is Place value. We will be counting and representing numbers, noticing the place of each digit to determine the value. 

RE

We are learning about creation this half term, reflecting on the Christian story of creation from the book of Genesis in the Bible. We will begin this week by thinking about something in nature that makes us say, 'Wow!' It could be a plant, an animal, a natural phenomenon, or even the weather!

Computing

This week, we are making sure everyone can log in safely to the laptops using their individual logins. Then we will be logging into spelling shed and becoming more familiar with what is expected of us, ready to use at home. 

Please remember that the 'Welcome to Key Stage 2: Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 parent meeting' is taking place on Wednesday in the school hall from 3pm.
