Literacy
This week we will be publishing our stories. This means, after a great deal of editing, we will be writing up our stories in our neatest handwriting to create a class book.
Maths
Y3: We are starting our unit on addition and subtraction.
Y4: We are finishing our place value unit and assessing our understanding so far.
RE
We are thinking about how Christians care for the world through our communities. This links nicely to Harvest as we practise our contribution for the Harvest service, and discuss how food banks and the church itself can support people this Harvest time.
Computing
Y3: We are 'tinkering' with our new coding unit this week, making sure we know the function of all the different buttons. Then we will be creating our own programmes and using coding to debug.
Y4: We are working through our unit on Logo. Using coding, we are moving a 'turtle' to create shapes. Eventually we will edit backgrounds and create our own scenes.
Y3 History: We are learning about the Stone Age diet this week.
Y4 History: We will be finding out more about Athens and Sparta.
Y5 History: We will be looking at Anglo-Saxon law codes.
NO ART lesson this week, as we will be celebrating Harvest at the church, 2pm. We hope to see as many of you parents there as possible.
