Literacy

This week the children will be planning and completing their piece of free writing for this half term. Please encourage your child to think about what genres of writing we have already looked at in literacy lessons and draw on this previous knowledge. 

 

Maths

We will be carrying on with multiplication and division this week using formal methods to solve calculations involving 2 and 3 digit numbers.  

 

RE

This week we will be learning about the Call to Prayer. How and why do Muslims respond to the call to prayer? Who is the most important person for a Muslim to obey?

 

Computing

Y3 will be completing a branching database using Purple Mash. 

Y4 will be exploring rhythm and tempo this week using Purple Mash.

What was life like in Ancient Egypt?

 

History Y4

Who was Alexander the Great and what was so special about his empire?

 

History Y5

Who were the Anglo-Saxon kings when the Vikings invaded?

 

Art

We are using our knowledge of Henri Matisse to begin our own 'drawing with scissors' piece. 

 

Science

Yr 3 - We will be learning about how fossils are formed.

Yr 4 - This week we will be learning all about our ears and how we hear sounds.
