This is the last week of this half term and we have so much to do! It's been a very busy half term and I know the children are ready for a well deserved break next week.
Literacy
Once we have tested ourselves on our Common Exception Words for this half term, we will get back to completing our non-chronological reports on the Rainforest. The children have worked so hard drafting and thinking about presentation, now they are on the publishing stage. The promise of handwriting pens has been an excellent incentive for neatest handwriting...
Maths
We are finishing our units on length and perimeter with end of unit assessments and some practical games and challenges in year 3. Year 4 are starting their Fractions unit by understanding the whole, counting beyond 1, and then looking at number lines with mixed numbers.
Computing
It is Safer Internet Day on Tuesday 11th February so we are suing our computing lesson to focus on how safe we are on the internet. The theme this year is Too Good To Be True? looking at scams and phishing online. We will be discussing games that we pay online too, ensuring that all children know how to keep themselves as safe as possible.
RE
We will be learning about Islamic symbols and their meanings this week, considering our big question and whether or not we can answer it fully yet. We will review our learning through a quiz and consider what else we could find out.
History
Y3: We will be finding out about Egyptian gods this week, thinking about the impact these beliefs had on the Egyptians and their way of life.
Y4: The Ancient Greeks also believed in many gods and goddesses so we will be finding out about them this week.
Y5: We will be learning about Norse gods and goddesses this week.
Art:
This is the last week we have to complete our art work. We will be having a gallery where we can all look round at each other's work and offer positive feedback.
