Tuesday year 1 has forest school. Please wear appropriate clothing, including long trousers. Please also remember to bring PE kit in the change into for PE in the afternoon.

Literacy - This week we will continue to use the book 'The Dragon Machine'. We will be using this book to write a character description of George with year 2 using expanded noun phrases. We will all be planning and writing a diary of events which might happen with our dragons following a similar story line as the book. We will be learning about past tense.

Phonics/ spellings - Year 2 will be learning about the suffix 'ly' and how often when this is adding an adverb is created. They will also be practising their common exception words.

Year 1 will be continuing with the switch it spell sounds, which look the same but make different sounds. /ue/ - clue and argue and /ew/ - pew and grew

Maths - Year 2 will revise finding fractions of half, quarter and one third. They will also be learning the find the whole, unit fractions 1/ 2  1/ 3  1 / 4 and non unit fractions   2 / 4    3/ 4.

Year 1 will make arrays, make doubles, make equal groups by grouping and make equal groups by sharing. 

Science - Year 1 will be learning about deciduous and evergreen trees. Year 2 will be learning about parents and their offspring and then focusing on the life cycle of humans.

Art - We will be manipulating paper from 2D to 3D.

Computing - Year 1 will be creating digital paintings and year 2 will be continuing to make online quizzes and presenting information digitally.

History - We will be exploring what is a castle, why were they built and what were the parts of a castle?
