Welcome back. 

We hope you have all had a lovely half term break and ready for the busy run up to Christmas.

This week we will begin rehearsals for our production. Please make sure you assist your child in learning any lines that they have. 

Maths

Yr 5 - This term we will be exploring Fractions. This week we will be finding equivalent fractions to unit and non unit fractions.

Literacy

This week we will be using collective nouns within our writing.

Science
Yr 4 - We will be exploring states of matter: solid, liquids and gases

Yr 5 - We will be learning about the Sun, Earth and Moon.

Geography

Yr 4 - This we we will begin our 'All around the world' unit of work by learning about the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Yr 5 - Our unit of work this term is all about 'Magnificent Mountains'. This week we will be locating famous mountains round the world.

RE

Our big question this half term is:

What kind of world did Jesus want?

Computing

We will be blocking our Computing this half term to allow for rehearsals. The Yr 4's will be 'writing for different audiences', developing their skills using a range of programmes. Yr 5's will be programming the microbits to perform certain tasks.

DT

We will do our DT unit later in the term over a few days rather than each week.  Our unit will be 'Structures', more details to follow later in the term.
