Monday is an Inset Day for the children so we will see you back in school on Tuesday!
Year 3s have Forest Schools on Tuesday afternoons so do not forget your clothes.
Literacy
This half term we will be using the text 'Street Beneath my Feet' alongside other texts including 'Pebble in my Pocket' and the biography, 'Mary Anning, Fossil Hunter'. The children will be learning about the features of a non-chronological report and reading about the layers of earth including rocks and fossils. Then they will be planning, drafting and writing their own reports. At the end of the half term, we will be presenting our work as a gallery which we will be inviting parents to see.
Maths
Year 3s are learning to estimate answers and use inverse operations. Year 4s are starting multiplication and division, starting with the 3s, 6s and 9s time tables.
Geography
Y3: This half term we are learning about The UK. This week, we start by learning the countries and capital cities that make up the UK.
Y4: To start this half term, Year 4s will be finding out about North and South, learning about the Equator, the Northern and Southern hemispheres.

Instead of Art on a Thursday afternoon, we will be using this time to practise our Christmas Play, coming together with Ash class. In a few weeks time, we will be blocking out two mornings to do our DT project. More details to follow.
