Literacy

This week, the children are planning and drafting their reports. We will be bringing together all the skills we have been learning over the last few weeks including all the information we have been learning about underground. The children will be given the opportunity to use the iPads to research more information once they have chosen their subheadings. The drafting stage will include using formal language with an informative tone to our writing. The children will be expected to remember to use a range of sentence types including commands, statements, questions and exclamations, as well as the correct punctuation. 

Maths

Year 4s will be completing their Reasoning papers this week whilst year 3 continue through the small steps in the multiplication and division unit. 

RE

This week, we will be learning about the inside of the church including the pulpit and the lectern. How are these pieces of furniture used to show the importance of the gospels? 

Computing

Year 3s will be learning how to add content to the text boxes they created last week in the magazine template. 

Year 4s will learn how to use different tools to select areas of an image. They will then use copy and paste within one image and between two images to produce a combined image. Finally, learners will consider when it’s appropriate to edit an image and discuss some of the ethics around retouching photos
