INSET DAY Thursday.

Literacy - This week we will be describing a beach setting using adjectives, planning a quest like Mr and Mrs Grinling and writing it is a story. We will also, be answering some comprehension questions based on the book.

Phonics - Year 2 will be consolidating their understanding of the possessive apostrophe for singular possession and practising their common exception words

Year 1 will be taking the phonics screener. They will also be recapping phase 3,4 and 5 sounds through a range of activities. 

Maths- Year 2 will be making tally charts, creating tables and practising their arithmetic skills and solving problems.

Year 1 will be starting a new maths topic this week of postion and direction. They will be describing turns, positions, left, right, backwards and forwards as well as above and below. 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring where there food comes from and year 2 will be looking at whether there are patterns between life cycles.

Design and technology - The children will be looking at hand puppets and designing their own one. Any puppets they may have at home they could bring in to share (sewn hand puppets).

Geography - We will be finding out about the physical and human features that are found at the seaside.
