Swimming will hopefully begin this week.

Literacy- This week we will be using the text 'The Lighthouse Keepers Lunch'. We will be creating a delicious sandwich of our own and writing a description using adjectives. We will be predicting the end of the story, writing a postcard as if we were Mrs Grinling and Mr Grinling. We ensuring we remember the appropriate punctuation and use different sentence types in our writing.

Phonics - Year 2 - We will be revising contractions and using these within dictated sentences. We will be practising our common exception words as well. 

Year 1 will be revisiting the phase 5 sounds. We will be playing phonics games and reading real and alien words in preparation for the phonics screener which the children will be doing the following week. 

Maths- Year 2 - We will be continuing work on time. We will be reading more clocks, working on minutes in a hour, hours in a day and time problems.

Year 1 will be recognising and finding a quarter of a shape and recognising and finding a quarter of a quantity. 

Science - Year 1 will be planting some seeds. Year 2 will be exploring the life cycle of a butterfly and beginning their diary recording the progress they make. 

Geography - We will be exploring where seasides are in the UK and creating a survey finding out which ones we have been to.

Art - We will be creating our bird sculptures.

Computing - We will be developing our understanding of online safety.
