Forest school for year 2 on Tuesday.

Literacy - This week we will be using the text Jack and the Baked Beanstalk. We will be retelling the story using a story map, writing a character and setting description. We will also be answering questions based on the book. Year 2 will be learning about inverted commas (speech mark), can they spot them when they are reading.

Phonics/spellings - Year 2 will be learning where to double to consonant and add ed. They will be also be improving their understanding of contractions eg don't, can't.

Year 1 will be learning the "Switch it spell sounds" for /c/ spelling words such as crown and cent and /g/ spelling words such a goat and gem. 

Maths- Year 2 will be comparing mass, practically measuring mass, measuring in grams and practising their arithmetic skills.

Year 1 - This week we will begin our new topic of length and height. We will begin by comparing lengths and heights, measuring length using objects and then measuring in cm. 

Science - Year 2 will be learning about animal diets and food chains. Year 1 will be exploring changes that happen in Spring.

DT - We will be exploring wheel mechanisms this week.

Geography - We will be exploring how peoples life's are similar and different in Brasillia.

RE - We will be continuing to discuss the symbols that are associated with the Easter story and making a cross.

PSHE - We will be considering our own uniqueness and how we should respect and value different lifestyles.
