Literacy- This week we will continue to use the book 'Jack and the baked bean stalk'. We will be infering how the characters feel from the pictures in the text, writing about their favourite part, retelling the story and year 2 will be focusing on writing dialogue using inverted commas (speech marks).

 

Phonics - Year 2 will be learning the spelling pattern where you need to add the suffix less.

 

Year 1 will be continuing with the 'switch it, spell sounds' This week we are focussing on /u/ as in glum and uniform. /ow/ as in clown and yellow.

 

Maths- Year 2 will be measuring in kg, solving problems involving mass, comparing volume and capacity and measuring in ml.

 

Year 1 will be finishing the topic of length and height and moving on to mass and volume. We will begin by comparing heavier and lighter, measuring mass and comparing mass.

 

Geography - We will be considering how we need to protect the Amazon and caring for our environment. 

 

Science - Year 1 will be exploring changes in spring and year 2 will be exploring whether things are living, dead or never been alive.

 

Design and Technology - We will be designing our own page with moving components. 

 

Computing - Year 1 will be continuing programming a moving robot. Year 2 developing their skills with taking photos. 

 

RE - We will be continuing to explore what are the best symbols of Easter. 

 

PSHE - We will be exploring what stereotypes are and how we should be trying to challenge these stereotypes.
