Forest school start for year 1 on Tuesday. Please come dressed appropriately and bring PE kit in a bag so the children can dressed for PE in the afternoon.

Literacy - This week we will be using the text 'The Gruffalo' as it is a familiar text. We will be describing the Gruffalo and using conjunctions to extend our sentences. We will be planning and writing about a new creature he might encounter on his journey and describing them and explaining why they too won't get eaten.

Phonics- Year 2 will be learning the rule where they drop the e and add y. Also, spelling words where the y makes an igh sound.

Year 1 -

Maths- Year 2 will be measuring in cm, m, comparing length and heights, ordering length and heights and solving problems involving length and height.

Year 1-

Science - Year 1 will be consolidating their learning about animals and looking at seasonal changes. Year 2 will be exploring microhabitats.

Art - We will be finding out about the artists Zacarias and French and creating visual notes.

Geography - We will be considering our local area and creating maps with simple keys.

History - We will be finding out about Florence Nightingale and looking at the changes in hospitals during her time and now.

Computing- Year 1 will be developing their ability to create a digital picture. Year 2 will be practising the coding skills they learnt last term.
