Parent phonics workshop - this Thursday 2nd October 9am
Harvest Service - this Thursday 2nd October 2pm
This week we will be starting Supersonic Phonic Friends. The sounds we will be learning are s,a,t,p,i. The children will be learning through a fun interactive scheme which we hope they enjoy. We will also be having a Phonic Workshop for parents on to discuss how we teach the children to read and write and we will be sending out a weekly phonics newsletter in your children's book bags, you can also read this below.
This week's drawing club is a book called "The Leaf Thief". Each week we learn five new words , linked to our story. We create fun actions for each word to help us remember them and use them in play. We call these our "Get up, Stand up" words. This week's words are sneaky, rustling, whirling, mischievous and camouflage.
We will be drawing the squirrel, a trap for the leaf thief, a leaf kingdom and we will invent a forest friend. We will also make up some magic codes to make funny things happen to our story.
We will also begin to talk about signs of Autumn. We will go on an Autumn walk on the school field and start to make an Autumn Collection for our investigation station.
