This is the final week before the half term break. Your children have had the most amazing first half term of school and have settled into school life really well. 

 

Phonics this week we will be learning 4 new sounds, these are ck, e, u and r. See newsletter below

 

This week as part of drawing club we will be watching Pingu. We will be drawing Pingu, drawing his igloo, and inventing a way to stop Pingu's friends stealing his ball! Of course we will be inventing some magic codes to make very funny things happen to our drawings and we will be chatting all about what's going in our stories.

 

We will be learning about the Hindu festival Diwali. We will be looking at some photos of celebrations, we will be watching a video about a little girl celebrating Diwali. We will also be making and decorating our own Divas. We will be listening to the story of Lord Rama, Sita and Lakshman who defeated the demon king Ravana. 

 

In Maths we will be exploring patterns and copying simple patterns, through song and using items around the classroom.
