W/C14th March

Maths - Year 4's need to finish the work that was set on Monday, Fractions of Quantities. The worksheet is stuck in their books already.

The powerpoint and copies of the sheet and answers are below if they are needed.

Yr 5's finished it yesterday while the Yr 4's were out.  Yr 5's can try at some of the Chilli Challenge Cards. There are 3 different levels of challenges. Print a few copies and then they can select the level they wish to do.

If any Yr 4 finishes the previous work then they can have a go at some of the challenge cards too.

Spellings - using their common exception words, choose 10 that they don't know and create a short story using them.

Literacy - Inverted commas for direct speech.

Go through the powerpoint to remind them of the rules of using inverted commas. Spend some time sharing their reading books and identifying the speech within their books. Can you find examples of the rules in y our book?

Grab white boards and go through the 2nd powerpoint (Classroom Secrets).

Independently have a go at the Classroom Secrets varied fluency sheets.

If there is then time, have a go at writing a little bit of speech of their own. Imagine the Oompa Loompas are having a conversation about the 5 golden ticket holders. What will they have to say about them? Are they chatting about Augustus going up the pipe? Are they talking about Violet turning blue?

Remember to punctuate your writing correctly.

There is a poster to help remind you of the rules.

Topic - Finish the Cadburys history information sheets from last week.

If those get completed then there is the Andy Warhol art to be completed too.

All unfinished work in at the front under the board.
