I can't believe we are now in the Summer term! This is one of my favourite times in the school year.
This week in Maths we are going to be doing a range of objectives: Roman numerals, negative numbers, factors, revising numbers to 1 million (yr 5's only) and of course practising our timestables in preparation for our timestable assessment in June.
In Literacy, we are going to be writing a piece of independent writing. You will have the opportunity to choose which genre of writing you would like to do: a story, a newspaper, an information leaflet, a diary, some instructions etc.
We will be exploring the features of Clicker 7 on the laptops, having a good game of rounders and beginning our topic on Australia. To start with we will be getting the atlases out to locate Australia in the world and identify the states, cities and other major landmarks.
Our science units for this term are both 'Living Things and their Habitats'. The year 4's are focusing on grouping and classifying animals and plants and the year 5's are learning about plants.
