Literacy - This week we will be using our pirate books we have read to plan and write our own adventure stories. We will be trying to remember to punctuate them correctly, use conjunctions and adjectives. Year 2 will be trying to use inverted commas.
Maths- Year 2 will be finding out the mass of objects and reading scales. They will be practising their mental arithmetic in all four calculations.
Year 1- We are learning to make arrays, make doubles and make equal groups by grouping and sharing.
Phonics - Year 2 will be revising the phase 5 sounds and using them in their writing.
Year 1 - will be revising phase 5 sounds practising reading real and fake words. This will help your child with the phonics screener in June.
Phonics Play - Picnic on Pluto
Topic- They will be planning their pirate ships in groups, thinking about what material is best to use based on their investigations.
Forest school - Year 2 on Tuesday, Year 1 on Thursday
RE - This half term we are learning how some Christians celebrate Pentecost and why it's important to them.
Music - This half term we are using our voices to make sounds to represent Space creating atmosphere using dynamics.
