Topic: This week we will be moving on from volcanoes and finding out more about tsunamis. What is a tsunami and how do they occur? For those of you who have been asking for extra activities to complete at home, here are a few links that could inspire you to complete your own tsunami related mini project.
Art: We will be studying the great Japenese artist Hokusai and his most famous piece of artwork, 'The Great Wave'. We will be attempting to sketch and paint our own versions of this beautiful painting.
Literacy: We are beginning our new 2 week unit on biographies, looking at the features of this particular genre of text. We will be finding out about the life of Mary Anning, linked closely to our science work on fossils.
Maths: We are consolidating much of what we have bene learning this term so far over the next two weeks. We will be applying our division skills through a variety of different problem solving activities. We will also be recapping fractions and measuring using problem solving to master our skills.
Goodwood meeting: A reminder that the Goodwood meeting is at 3:30pm this Thursday. Meet in our classroom, children are more than welcome to attend. It shouldn't be any longer than about 15 minutes, plus there will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the session. If you are unable to attend, please let me know via the dojo.
